Choir

The Cartwright High School Choir started in the fall of 2001. It replaced the Band Program which was previously ran at Cartwright School.

The Choir is completely funded by the parents of the students. In addition, several fundrasiers are held each year. The High School Choir consists of students in Grades 7-12. Students in 9-12 receive one half credit per year.

This year the High School Choir, under the direction of Cheryl Dousselaere have performed at the School Remembrance Day Service, a Christmas Music Recital, and a Choral Festival. The group is also preparing to perform at the School Talent Show, Graduation, and Awards Day.

Through fundraising efforts of the Choir, our school raised enough money for a Hoja concert and a two day world drumming workshop. In addition to Cartwright School having a High School Choir there is also a Cartwright Crescendos ( K-6 Choir ); Cartwright Accents ( 4-6 Ensemble ); Cartwright Concentos ( 7-12 Ensemble ), as well as an Elementary recorder group.

Yearbook

The Cartwright School Yearbook Staff has been hard at work this past year. This will be the first yeat that we will be working with Friesens Inc. All the work is done on the Frisen's website by our Year Book Staff members. All the yearbooks were pre-ordered this year and we will be handing them out at the start of next school year.

Fundraising has been a huge part of our committee's work. We have soup and sandwich every month and are planning more events for the upcoming months. One of our main fundraisers this year has been our memory blocks. Over spring break we painted the hallway of the school. We are now selling blocks from that wall to the public. You can write whatever you want on these blocks because they will be kept here forever.

The members of the yearbook staff are Jenny Burton, Ali Mullin, Shannon Mullin, Keaton Bramwell, Jaya Freeman, Lilia Klass, Dani Gemme, Harley Christensen, and Merrit Bramwell.

Yearbook Editors: Kenzie Drewry and Mandy Marchant

Yearbook Supervisors: Dixie Gardiner and Nancy Haight
